By Farm Progress staff
Agricultural companies continue to churn out new products at an amazing rate. At the 2019 Farm Progress Show, the Farm Progress editorial team uncovered nearly 200 products introduced since the 2018 show.
Look for more coverage of these products coming soon.
Meanwhile, each editor on the new-products team picked two products that piqued his or her interest a bit more than the rest. Perhaps they fit a unique niche or feature sleek engineering. Or maybe they will allow you to do something you couldn’t do before — or do it more easily.
Here is the team of editors who searched for new products this year and their top two favorites. Check out the slideshow for more in-depth descriptions of these products.
Tom J. Bechman, Indiana Prairie Farmer: Unverferth UHarvest Pro ISOBUS grain cart scale and data management system; and the Woods Compact Super Seeder, which hooks to an ATV or UTV
Austin Keating, Prairie Farmer: Soil-Max’s Flow-X app to design customized drainage plans; and the QuickDraw 3000 spray tender system by SureFire Ag Systems
Shelley Huguley, Southwest Farm Press: Protexia’s Agrirepel silage bags that repel birds and rodents; and Suzuki’s KingQuad 750AXi ATV

A network of dealers across the Corn Belt sells drainage equipment manufacturer Soil-Max’s drainage plans, but the company is beta-testing a service to sell customized plans directly to farmers at $25 an acre. Through an app called Flow-X, landowners provide all the necessary information to the remote designers. Elevation data is required, as are answers to questions such as: How much water do you want to drain per day? What spacings do you want? A full launch of the service is planned for early 2020.
The third generation of the QuickDraw spray tender system by SureFire Ag Systems can mix and load up to six bulk totes in eight minutes. With the Chem-Blade enclosed system as an optional add-on, you can put full jugs in a chamber, press a button, and in a few moments, open the chamber and retrieve an automatically washed jug. That add-on costs $17,000 on top of the QuickDraw system, which lists from $27,900 to $31,900. You can go more manual with the cheaper Chem-Blade original. Users can use automated batch calculation to further increase efficiency. The QuickDraw 3000 connects to a new cloud from SureFire, where batch records, recipes and work orders can be sent. Users can also split a batch between fields with the cloud, which can exchange work orders with third-party software, ERP and FIMS.
It’s hard to miss the bright yellow and green 4103 AccuSpread from Oxbo International. With a hint of Brazilian flare, it has the capability of both liquid and dry fertilizer application. The 2,600-gallon tank allows a lot of ground to be covered. Unique is the jack system that allows for quick changes between dry and liquid systems without a crane. Simply jack up the liquid tank, drive the chassis out and relocate under the dry box. This 400-hp, three-wheel, high-flotation chassis is designed to reduce soil compaction. For both liquid and dry capabilities, list price can surpass $500,000. Contact Oxbo International, Clear Lake, Wis., at 800-628-6196 or oxbo.com.

Quick and safe is the draw to the TireGrabber from Remlinger Manufacturing. Changing sprayer tires from skinnies to floaters is simpler with this attachment. What resembles a claw takes off the tire. From controls inside the skid steer, the TireGrabber can twist and turn the tire from vertical to horizontal and from left to right. This free spinning movement is great for tire alignment. The TireGrabber also works with telehandlers and front-end loaders. It costs $6,995.
It looks like a normal silage bag, but Protexia says it’s what’s on the inside that’s important. Rodents and birds have a reputation for poking holes in silage bags. Because the sacks contain feed, using a pesticide isn’t an option. So, Protexia created Agrirepel bags — silage bags containing a nontoxic, organic additive called Combirepel. It’s bonded within the plastic bag and repels birds and rodents. The repellent isn’t harmful to humans or other animals, nor does it harm the targeted mice, rodents and raccoons. It only repels them.
